You can make a difference in someone's life: Share
your story!
Diabetes is everywhere, affecting millions of people worldwide and not showing any
sign of slowing down. Many families are beginning to experience the changes, the
pain and the new challenges that come along when a family member is diagnosed
with the disease. The good news is that, your input can make a difference in their
lives!
You have been there; you know what it is all about. You have been through the
emotional struggles and the challenges of learning how to keep your blood glucose
levels under control. You have learned to read your body and know what works and
what doesn’t. You have learned to have hope and to look positively into the future, to
live without fear, knowing that you can win the battle over diabetes, physically and
emotionally. Now it is time to help others face the challenges and come out
victorious. You can make a difference in someone’s life!!
What advice would you give to somebody that has been recently diagnosed with
diabetes? Do you have a personal diabetes success story that could help others
achieve the same? What advice would you give to family members? What can the
world learn from you and your experience with the disease that could literally change
the course of someone’s life? We want to give you the opportunity to share your
valuable input with the world.
My name is Jesus Chirino, I am founder and webmaster of http://www.
yourlifewithdiabetes.com, a website dedicated to providing up to date information on
diabetes and helping diabetics face the challenges that come along with the disease.
In the time that I have been working on this project, I have made a lot of research on
diabetes, but I have learned the most by interacting with other diabetics, people that
see their lives affected by it on a daily basis. From them I have learned valuable
things about diabetes that I would not have been able to learn anywhere else, and it
made a huge difference in the way I looked at the disease.
Now, I am looking for your help. I want to collect diabetes related success stories,
advice, do’s and don’ts, tips and much more from other diabetics, because I know it
would be an amazing tool in helping others, specially those that have been recently
diagnosed and their families start off on the right foot. I cannot do this without your
help.
If you are interested in being a part of this mission, write a small essay (at least two
paragraphs) about your experience with diabetes, and what you have learned and
done that others could do and achieve the same positive results. Talk from your
heart, and say what you feel. This is not a writing competition; it is sincere advice
that could make a huge difference in someone’s life.
You can remain anonymous or put your name or a signature at the end of the essay.
If you have a diabetes related website, forum or product you would like to promote,
you are more than welcome to put a link to it on your signature. I will not share, sale
or reveal your email address to anyone, nor will I modify in any way your essay.
You can email me your essay at admin@yourlifewithdiabetes or go to http://www.
yourlifewithdiabetes.com where you will see a link on the home page. Most essays
will be published on the home page of our website, giving them maximum exposure
to our visitors.
Thank you once again to wanting to make a difference in someone’s life. Your life
with diabetes can sometimes be painful and challenging, but by helping others and
knowing we are making a difference, life’s challenges and what we learn from them
might just be worth it.
Regards,
Jesus Chirino
